Chaotic Good Girl from NYC lands in Berlin

Güten tag!

I am writing this morning from “No Fire No Glory” coffee shop in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg, a great third wave coffee shop serving a solid flat white, which I learned today has a shot more espresso than a cappuccino.

Needless to say, I am a New Yorker, born and raised, and stationed in Berlin for the next month or until my tourist visa runs out. This is my first post as Chaotic Good Girl, and I’m writing from Berlin in a euphoria that can only be induced by the dizzying combination of good coffee and some delightful techno musik.

If you’re a nerd like me, you might recognize the reference to dungeons and dragons in my moniker, “Chaotic Good Girl.” I was never very good at D&D, but after completing the quiz, I immediately identified with the chaotic good alignment. Chaotic Good represents the quality of independently defining one’s own life and sometimes, in the process, bucking the system.

I think it is a quality that will continue to gain a stronghold.

These days, amidst the absurd and often shockingly nonsensical power struggles that are playing out against the American Political landscape, (and I’m generous…) it is becoming more widely recognized that goodness and lawfulness are not one and the same.

I think that the chaotic combination of "a good heart with a free spirit” is what is necessary in order to challenge and "disrupt the order of society,” which is what young people want right now, deep down, even if they are afraid.

I was in a rut before I came to Europe to travel alone. In the past few months I have been on my own personal heroine’s journey to love my turmoil; in search of self actualization, self love, hoping to discover my true passion, how to take care of myself, what really matters, etc.

This is my diary, a collection of my observations. If you are reading this, I hope you enjoy :-)
